QUESTION 1


Q.1.1. DIGITAL ACCESS
  • It is used to help out students on getting access to the internet and how to use it.
  • Then it is misused by not thinking critical because some students don't have access to computers outside the school and teachers don't accommodate those students who have no access to the technology/internet.
  • DIGITAL COMMERCE
  • It has to do with online buying or selling and teachers don't teach students about how to do the online buying/selling and that result to students to do their own without having knowledge about it, so they get scammed and some things are being stolen.
  • In a good way, to those who knows how to use online buying, they do researches about their buying and selling stuff and they keep their identity safe.
  • DIGITAL COMMUNICATION
  • This element is about communicating through phones, emails, blogs, video call etc.. And some are misusing the element as for students they communicate with other people through their phones by texting during class time.
  • In a good way students and teachers use these different kinds of communication to do their school assignments, work stuffs to research about good or bad things that are happening in our country/world.
  • DIGITAL LITERACY
  • According to Duncan's(2010) National Educational Technology Plan " teachers don't have adequate professional development on how to use the technology". That lead to student misbehaving the resources of the technology.
  • This element is about teaching students about the technology and how it is used.
  • DIGITAL ETIQUETTE
  • This element is about standard of conduct or procedure which students are misusing by researching on things that don't relate to their life/school work.
  • Other students follow the procedure by working with their teachers on sharing relevant information and research about what was taught in the classroom.
  • DIGITAL LAW
  • Students don't take fully responsibility because they abuse the technology by posting nasty things or downloading them or stealing them.
  • Other students use it for a good course and they pay for what they want to download.
  • DIGITAL RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITY
  • This element is about not abusing the rights & responsibilities of the technology.
  • Also students must know or understand the technology rules.
  • DIGITAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS
  • This element is about the addiction of technology and computer egonomics.
  • Students are addicted in technology in a way that they are misusing it and they are not aware that the video games and the things they download like music videos are not good for them.
  • DIGITAL SECURITY
  • This element is about protecting personal security for online stalking and identity theft.
  • Students don't protect their identity when they are using social networks. For example, Facebook, Emails etc...
  • Q.1.2.
  • There are three forms of the digital divide which are, Economic divide, Usability divide and Empowerment divide.
  • There are no literacy skills
  • The infrastructure is poor because South Africa does not have people that has skills.
  • Resources are hard to be given out as there are no people to use them wisely.
  • Also some people do have skills but they don't have degrees so the government can't allow them to work for bigger positions.
  • Infrastructure is the most important thing to improve the social life and economic life in our country.
  • However, all the forms of the digital divide will have much greater impact in the years to come.
  • Q.1.3.
  • Social capital can be described as when people are living and working together to value their relationships in enabling the society to function effectively.
  • Digital citizen can build the social capital by creating opportunities for people to meet those who are connected in relevant information.
  • Also by not using some social media platforms, in that way the social and communication skills will increase.
  • Also by impacting peoples ability to leverage their social capital.
  • According to Chen(2014) "social capital is based around the concept that the use of social networks results in specific benefits such as trust, information and co-operation.
  • Digital citizen can also enhance the opportunities and skills to enable the people to benefit from digital resources like the internet.

  • In my area there are lot of young people that are not working and some of them are educated and some are not.
  • And many young people they don't know what they want in life.
  • The 6D's process of solution fluency are define, discover, dream, design, deliver and debrief.
  • You have to define what you want in your life by planning about what you want to do and how you going to use your skills.
  • Then after you have to discover about your plans, skills and do skimming, scanning the information you need.
  • Then you have to dream and wish about your plan succeeding and you have to imagine the best from your dreams.
  • Then design, you have to have a clear picture or idea of what you want and how you going to do it and do your analysis.
  • You have to deliver a plan into your action and your dreams into a reality and deliver a solution of how you going to make it happen.
  • The last ting is to debrief where by you have to conclude everything and do inspections on what went wrong or how your plan went and learn to understand.
  • This problem can be tackled by when the youth takes fully responsibility of their life and start digging around and find themselves jobs.
  • Also the high rate can be reduced by when the unemployment people accept whatever job they get, instead of wanting to do what they want.
  • However, this problems can be solve if only people can know their skills and use them in right places.
  • Q.2.2.
  • Yes I think it could be a problem.
  • Because whatever you are doing online you are leaving it to be digital and be seen by everyone.
  • Also you might get negative stories about you online and those stories will be seen by everyone who wants to see it.
  • If you got a negative footprints your life can be hell because you cannot get a proper job, education.
  • Anyone can post something about you or create a video of you doing something bad and it can go viral within 2hours and your family won't like it and you can have a bad reputation.
  • Q.2.3
  • You can manage your footprints by not giving out any of your online passwords to anyone.
  • Also don't post something that will affect your future in social networks.
  • Lastly, make sure you don't make a terrible mistake that can destroy your future.
  • Q.3
  • The internet of things is a system of collected online devices or people without being inter-acted or meeting face to face.
  • Also internet of things is where by you transfer data over a network without giving it to human to human.
  • The internet of things can affect the businesses in a productivity and making money while driving skills and careers.
  • Also it has the power of changing the face of the business by transforming the skills to a shortage.
  • Also it can create new roles of itself that can affect businesses.
  • It can affect business by taking over a lot of data that can cost them fortune of money.
  • Also you have to do faster deliveries and for you to do so you will have to shorter commute times for yourself and employees.
  • Also internet of things makes you to be energetic and your production to be cheaper because the machines will work smoother ways to operate and your cost will decrease.
  • Also you can lose profit but you will spend more money.
  • You will lose some industries as many will demand higher and others will want to become more efficient.
  • The IOT has an both negative and positive impact, the negative impact is where by the internet can change your face of business in a bad way.
  • And the positive impact is where by you can communicate with your clients online and negotiate online without having to travel.

  • There must be aim of policies so that students can be aware of their responsibilities when using their phones.
  • There must be implementations so that when a student is caught cheating his/her phone will be taken and will face the music.
  • Students must be aware of copying and there must be certain rules for students using their phones.
